Our Programs
Where young children begin to make meaningful connections within the classroom and beyond.
Young children come into the world with a breathtaking drive to learn. They are powerful thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers and make meaning through their relationships with the people around them and through their interactions with the environment.

Children are naturally inquisitive about the world around them.

FOUNDATIONAL EARLY YEARS – KG (Lower KG & Upper KG) (4/5s)
In kindergarten, children experience an enriched school preparatory program that integrates social, language, and academic skills, fostering lifelong learning. Our focus on the whole child addresses personalized needs, nurturing both EQ and IQ dispositions. This stage encourages leadership development, empowering children to take responsibility for themselves and their environment.
In kindergarten, children express themselves through writing, using phonics and sight word vocabulary. Engaging in projects involving inquiry, research, and presentations encourages critical thinking, curiosity, and independent communication skills.
The KG program, designed for 4 to 5-year-olds, ensures a smooth transition from kindergarten to primary school. Building on the nursery program using the Montessori method, it introduces new concepts through various teaching materials. Child-centered, it emphasizes formal mastery of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Extracurricular activities like roleplay, nature walks, water play, cooking, and arts help children discover their talents.
Classroom experiences reinforce self-management, perseverance, risk-taking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Parents are actively involved in the transition, with home learning activities enhancing their support and extension of their child’s learning.
Kindergarten
Key Development Areas
The curriculum for Kindergarten is a process-oriented discipline that focuses on:
With the child’s progress and advancement in language and numeracy skills, children are encouraged to:
- Present and communicate their ideas
- Acquire knowledge on their own
- Develop independence, confidence and maturity
- Work collaboratively in groups
- Engage in creative and critical thinking
At DFS, our teachers rely on their deep knowledge of child development to build hands-on learning experiences for children and a strong classroom community grounded in positive, trusting relationships.
Our teachers recognize that each child develops in their own way and at their own pace, and understand how to individualize learning to leverage the strengths and experiences of each student.
