Dear All,
DFS was founded in association with Anura Child Care Foundation. We were new to the education field but we are a team of good learners and conclusively saying we are good students with a passion for learning & creativity, the only way to learn was to become students once again.
Thus this leads to our first step towards the journey of exploring, learning & discovering. Hence the name came – “DISCOVER FIRST STEP”.
Why Discover First Step?
“There is always a first step towards the discovery of something new” – DFS is not just about imparting knowledge, DFS is a First Step to Nurture & Discover Life.
We have started DFS Pre-School & Day Care Chain in a very small area with a dream of making it a place where individual care, learning and development of young children will be the primary focus, where creativity is cherished and encouraged. Discover First Step has set the standards for academic, interpersonal & brain development learning among preschoolers. This is who we are. We ensure to train young brains by providing them with a deeply transformative experience — intellectually, socially, and personally.
“Children are powerful, capable and full of potential and our image of the child will define our language, actions and choices for and with the children.” Our image of the child is our reason for being.
Our environment will offer a rich context to invite research and will be approached with intent and inspiration. We will create an environment around children that is beautiful, inspiring and that piques their curiosity in every encounter.
Our role as Educators is to inspire, support, nurture and guide. We are each of us coaches and mentors, co-learning alongside the children; supporting children with questions that will drive their learning process, allowing them to construct their own knowledge and find real value in the journey to seek answers.
We have never thought we will come this far growing exponentially. We are able to build a successful platform for the community, a special kind of organization, a place where people continually learn and grow and treat each other with just a little more consideration than is usually noticeable out in the “real world.” We preferred to create something new. And we wanted to have a good time doing it.
Our path is not easy, and it imposes an enormous amount of resourcefulness, will and commitment from all involved — teachers, parents and administrators — but we believe in ourselves that we are creating a special school like no other. Through this journey, we came across numerous ups & downs, scenarios, circumstances and believe us we are thankful to all, as it makes us what we are today. How mature we have become and we have learned a lot during the entire protocol of evolving and we are still learning new things every day. It reflects in our journey and it’s so evident. Learning from practical experiences is the magical thing could ever happen to any organization.
We have followed the principle of Learn Work Improve in DFS. DFS is not any school to us it’s our passion for life. It’s a way of living for us. Since the inception of DFS, we are on an exciting joyful holiday trip.
We have always quest for the world best to be provided in all DFS schools to all the children. We have never inhibited our research, we have kept a wide-open vision for DFS learning. We strongly believe that any educational institution and its thoughts, dreams, ideas, innovation, research work should be deeply rooted within its culture and in sync with modern technology and modern methods of teaching.
We strongly believe in our Indian Social & Cultural Values, Traditions & Ethics. It lays the foundation of our thought process and our passionate attitude towards DFS. India is one of the oldest civilization on earth with strong values & belief system. We are receptive and pay respect towards different opinions. Educators at DFS are committed to imbibe vital aspects of life such as social, moral, emotional, spiritual and intellectual which contributes to the individual’s development.
Students and children will always be the first priority for DFS. Parents are the first teachers and teachers are the second parents for them. This is the vital bond which entangles all of us as one community, mutually supporting & helping each other progressively towards constructive development & progress of every human being.
We are honoured and take pride in our endeavours towards our good work for society. We promise and pledge in continuing to do so with more passion and rigour. We can be proud that our basic education system is one of the best in the world. An achievement made possible through the combined efforts of our parents, teachers, and the broader learning community.
Discover First Step is more than the sum of its many celebrated parts. It is, most of all, a home – a place where you can belong. Each experience may be different, but at First Step, there are certain experiences everyone will share.
We have created the kind of educational program we wish we’d had for ourselves and dreamed we’d have for our children — a place where people feel like there is genuinely no better place to learn and to grow.
